Cruise the whitsundays

SU Schoolies Whitsundays sets sail to the most amazing secluded coastlines including the infamous Whitehaven Beach. Each night you'll anchor in a private inlet where you can kick back and enjoy the most incredible sunsets while the crew cook up a feed fit for a king. Queensland's tropical waters are among the world's most beautiful, and you'll experience them up close as you snorkel the Great Barrier Reef - one of the seven natural wonders!

Once you have finished on the boat you will spend 2 nights relaxing in resort living with pools, parties and fantastic food. There are a range of great activities on offer to do during the day including a Jet Ski tour.

FAQs

What is included in the cost?

Price includes, return airfares (Brisbane Airport), accommodation, transport, food and some activities.

Extra costs will be for optional activities and 1 lunch at Airlie Beach.

How do I cancel my registration?

Contact whitsundays@su-schoolies.com if you are no longer able to attend the event. The $200 deposit is non-refundable and may be a cancellation fee if you cancel too close to the event

Where will we be staying?

On Schoolies Whitsundays you will spend two nights at Mantra Club Croc Resort Airlie Beach and three nights aboard a vessel, sailing the Whitsundays!

Who will be going?

Year 12 leavers, fun-loving guys and girls, actually hundreds of them from all over Queensland attend the event. Schoolies from both state and private schools have come in the past. If you finish year 12 in 2021, you can be there.

What role do the leaders play?

The leaders are there to provide support for the participants and facilitate many of the details which need to be taken care of on a daily basis. They will maintain an awareness of times for transfers to the different locations/events and have a responsibility to be aware of where participants are at various times. They aren't there to cramp your style, but they are there to ensure that you get the most out of your Schoolies.

How do I get there?

If you are from South East Queensland you will need to meet at the Brisbane Airport at your allocated time. From there obviously you'll fly! We fly into Proserpine and then get a bus to the harbour in Airlie Beach. If you live nearby you can find your own way to the harbour, you just need to let us know. If you don't live anywhere near Airlie Beach or Brisbane, contact us and we will work something out!

Is there going to God Stuff?

SU-Schoolies Whitsundays has volunteers who attend local churches from right across QLD. They will lead topical small group discussions with Schoolies each day.

There will be content that will challenge you to consider what role God can play in your life after school.

Its stinger season, am I in danger?

Generally, no. We take all the necessary precautions whilst on the yachts, on the Island and on the mainland. This includes wearing stinger suits whilst snorkelling and swimming in the ocean. You will also be asked to wear a stinger suit when you go tubing.

How many people per room?

At Mantra Club Croc Airlie Beach, we stay in rooms which accommodate 2 people. Accommodation varies slightly between vessels but it is mainly open-plan. To make sure everyone is safe and well-behaved we allocate guys to one side, and girls to the other, with leaders scattered throughout.

Do we room with people we don't know?

Each participant gets to nominate another person they would like to room with when they register. We then do our best to match these so that everyone is sharing with their friends where possible. The one circumstance where this doesn't happen is where there is a mixture of males and females in a group. In this case we will group the males together and the females together. If you don't know anyone else on the trip, we will put you with other friendly people who don't know anyone so you can all make friends together! Lovely!

What will I need to bring?

We will send a list of items to pack out in October, and it will include clothes, beach wear, toiletries, spending money, etc
